Remote Access

REMOTE ACEESS


The SLC remote access is offered for students enrolled in UCLA Physical and/or Life Sciences courses.


First time users, please follow the steps below.

Short version:

USE UCLA VPN TO ACESS (you can find instructions and downloads here)

Citrix

24/7 access : https://slcsvr8.nslc.ucla.edu/citrix/storeweb

Follow the directions. Once you've done with installation and run the Citrix client logon:

username: USE THIS FORMAT: slc2000\username

PASSWORD is your 9 digits University ID


Remote desktop (We can not guarantee availability during our operating hours (M-F, 9am-5pm)

Installing the Microsoft Remote Desktop App:

1. Install and run the UCLA VPN client. You can find instructions and downloads here.

2. Once logged into the UCLA VPN, download and install the Remote Desktop from Microsoft Store, or Mac App Store, or Google play.

Accessing a SLC Remote Desktop:

1. If you are on campus set your wifi connection to eduroam, elsewhere connect to UCLA VPN.

2. Click on one of the links above (under currently available workstations) access the remote desktop selection page.

3. Click on the computer icon with a green dot on it. (the ones with red dot are in use)

4. The system will download a file to your computer (RDP file)

5. Find the file, double click to open. Your computer will pop up a window with a warning of an unknown publisher, click on CONNECT. (you can also click on the box directing the program not to show the warning again)

6. Your credentials are:

USERNAME: MyUCLA username. IMPORTANT, USE THIS FORMAT: slc2000\username

PASSWORD is your 9 digits University ID

Another warning window will open, click on YES.
